Mangystau ranks 3rd in terms of SMEs number
Today, within the framework of the official visit of the Chairman of the Entrepreneurs National Chamber Presidium of the Republic of Kazakhstan "Atameken" Timur Kulibayev to the Mangystau region, a meeting of the Regional Council of the Chamber of Entrepreneurs with the participation of the Mangystau region akim Eraly Tugzhanov, the leadership of the Regional Chamber and businessmen of the region was held.
At the end of 2017, the number of SMEs in the Mangystau region increased by 2,800 units and amounted to 47 thousand units (a growth of 106.5%, according to this indicator the Mangystau region ranks 3rd in the country, and in 2016 we took 6th place). The number of employed in the small and medium business grew by 4,4 thousand people and amounted to 112,249 people (an increase of 104.1%). The share of employed in small and medium-sized businesses, of the total number of employed population in the region was 40.8%. (according to this indicator, Mangystau region ranks 3rd in the country, and in 2016 we took 7th place).
"In 2017, at the meetings of the Regional Coordination Council on the Business Road Map 2020, 208 projects were implemented for a total amount of KZT15.1 billion (2016, 179 projects for KZT11.6 billion). As a result of the Unified Program implementation, 1,403 new jobs were created in 2017 (466 new jobs were created in 2016), which is 3 times more than in the same period last year. The entities of small and medium business were given credit resources in the amount of KZT29.8 billion, which is 1.3 times more than in the same period last year. In addition, 278 microcredits were issued to entities of small and medium-sized enterprises under all programs for a total amount of KZT 1.3 billion and 648 new jobs were created," - akim Eraly Tugzhanov said.
Director of the Chamber of Entrepreneurs in the Mangystau region Nurbek Karasayev told about key directions of regional business development. NCE RK "Atameken" initiated the project "Bastau", in which the unemployed and self-employed population learns to do business. The Mangystau region became a pilot region where this project was tested. In the Mangystau region, 750 unemployed and self-employed residents took part in the "Bastau", of which over 150 participants were able to open their business.
Then, Chairman of the Entrepreneurs National Chamber Presidium of the RoK "Atameken" Timur Kulibayev and akim of Mangystau region Eraly Tugzhanov took part in the meeting of the Business Women's Council.
More than 47,000 entrepreneurs are registered in 2017 in the Mangystau region, 40% of which are women. It is more than 19 thousand people. 208 projects were approved within the framework of the Business Roadmap 2020 program. Women entrepreneurs presented 75 projects and created 279 new jobs.
"If we talk about employment of women in the region, then, according to 2017, the number of women applying for employment is 3687 people, 3437 of which are employed. 1138 women were settled for permanent work. The number of civil servants in fact is 2,830 people, 1,659 out of them are women. This is almost 60% of the total. Also, there are 12 active gender NGOs in Mangystau region. There are 7 regional Resource Centers for support and development of non-governmental organizations headed by women in cities and districts of the region. Gender equality is one of the key directions of the social modernization of the society, since the creation of equal opportunities is an important component in ensuring the active participation of women in the political, economic and social life of the country," - said Eraly Tugazhnov, the Akim.
